First day of school

Shortly before Monday, January 5, the first day of school at ISB, I discovered that the school never communicated to me instructions about the first round of bidding for classes. So annoyingly, I am having to try to add all classes via add/drop. I really hope I don't have to take a class I am not interested in just to fulfill my unit requirement, and I have been trying my best to light fires with both Haas and ISB.

So unfortunately, my overall first impression of the school is that they are not very organized or efficiently run. The facility is quite good though, with the library, computer center, bookstore, cafeteria, cafes, travel agency, administration and classrooms centrally located in one area.

Thankfully, the ISB students are friendly. They always seem willing to answer questions or act as translators when we're trying to get through to the administration. There are also about 40 exchange students here from various universities: USA (Duke, Dartmouth, UNC, Kellogg, Thunderbird, Darden, Wharton...), South Africa, Netherlands, UK, Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, Israel, France, Taiwan, Canada. We exchange students have been helping each other and commiserating together, haha. :)

Signing off for now, I'm heading to my second day of classes shortly.
