Our apartment

Here is a vid of our apartment.

Our single-bedroom apartment is quite nice; it comes with cable TV, air conditioning and daily housekeeping. We paid a total of approximately 56,000 Rps, or less than $1,200 for 3 months of housing.

There is even laundry service - you put your clothes in a pail (include the detergent), and a lady puts the bucket's contents into the washing machine, returns to your apartment and hangs them on a clothes rack. It does not appear common to use drying machines here. This costs 400 Rps a month, or approximately $8. For ironing, one garment costs 2.5 Rps, or about 5 cents. I've even heard you can hire a cook for very reasonable rates, but we have been eating in the cafeteria.

Your apartment is much bigger than I thought. If I come visit, can I stay on you couch?

It's really not that long :( Even I can't lay flat on it, I have to bend my knees - I guess it was not made for tall Americans. I don't think you would be comfortable. Maybe you can bring an air mattress? Actually, I think it's best if I put you up in the hotel next door, it's called Ellaa Suites, it looks very nice even though the trip advisor rates are low.
