Smog and other random thoughts

the other day i went to the salar jung museum with bram, another exchange student from the netherlands. unfortunately we couldn't take our cameras inside, so all i can show you is this:

the museum was pretty nice, not great, but ok. we took a rickshaw there and back, which was a long ride, at least 45 minutes each way. the thing about rickshaws is that are open aired vehicles, so on the one hand you feel close to your surroundings like a motorcycle, but on the other hand you also get to breathe in all the dirty air. if there are any smog restrictions in india they are not enforced at all and during the ride back from the museum we experienced the worst of it b/c it was during rush hour. i feel like some snobby foreigner, but i had to cover my mouth during some parts of the ride b/c there was so much smog. i snapped a quick pick when i noticed bram was doing the same thing:

at one point we aptly passed this guy:

lastly, if i ever live here...

...remind me to keep ripley's number on speed dial.
